The recent rains and cooler weather have been good for the butterfly garden. The wanted - and unwanted - plants are lush! It is a nice time to be out there this week so please check it out if you get a chance before summer heat returns. We will plan an official workday next Fridayon July 26, 2013 to mount a joint attack on the weeds and grass. Many plants have overgrown others, too, and need trim back for more definition. Try to join us for a cuppa at the gazebo about 8 AM or come when you can.
The storm with strong winds on July 4 apparently took the vitex tree down which stood where the light spot is on the grassy area. It fell mostly onto the Carpenter Bed north of where it was found broken at the base the next morning.
