An update on the Butterfly Garden following the wave of frigid air that swept down from the north is that many of the plants are now brown and ready to be clipped back. We have had two months of winter with limited workdays. There was a window of pretty weather Saturday afternoon and we will occasionally have an opportunity to mulch and trim between rain and cold. Our best plan is to watch weather forecasts and get a couple of hours or so in when possible in January.
Many of our plants will struggle this year and only time will tell the how they perservere. Below is a gallery of some of the plants that did weather the polar vortex quite well:
